Riding the bus!!
So today Syndey rode the bus to school for the first time. I have been stressing over this for a while now. I know I really need to calm down, but I really enjoy dropping her off and picking her up. She has been asking me everyday since school started to ride the bus. On Sunday night I had a horrible dream about a terrible thing that happened on her bus ride. I told Syd I was too worried for her to ride the bus. She told me I can be brave. All day on Monday I thought about Syd's comment, and realized this would be a good thing for her. I needed to let go and let her gain more confidence and do this. So I talked to the bus driver yesterday when I picked Sydney up from school and she caught the bus this morning. She was excited but still a little nervous,as was I. I wrote her bus number on her hand, and we talked to a friend in her class that will ride the same bus she can buddy up with. I was so proud of her and me, and I cannot wait until the bus drops her off today to hear all about it!!

Having kiddos take the bus is always nerve-wracking, there are too many "what if's" to toss around your head. But they do enjoy it for the most part, and feel like a big kid doing something all by themselves. Way to go, MOM!!! It'll get easier - a little.

You're so brave! Let us know what she says about her experience! What a cute (and brave) girl. We sure miss you guys.
I was nervous for the bus when KJ was in Kindergarten. I was nervous she would't be able to find her class, or get on the wrong bus to come home, and get lost.
Now, I thank heaven for the bus.
I don't know how we'd get everyone off to school on time if I had to drive her And the other two to preschool.
Way to go, Syd, and you Kris, for being BRave!
You guys are cute! I understand your concern with the bus. That's good that she has a buddy to ride with on the bus. Syd is so smart I'm sure she will do great!
I totally understand your stress! My girls actually want to ride the bus for the first time tomorrow. I never thoguht I would let them ride, ever -even in high school! j/k But really, there's too many kids I don't know without close adult supervision. But I, too, decided to be brave and let my kids enjoy it. I also LOVE dropping them off and picking them up. So we'll see! Good to see you struggle too!
