President Hinckley
I am so grateful for the opportunity I has to be touched by our beloved prophet President Hinckley. My first memory of him was when I was 12 or 13. I attended the Bountiful temple dedication with my family. Although we were not in the same room as he during the dedication he walked tthrough the room where we were sitting right before it started. I remember so vividly the spirit that entered the room as he entered the room, all dressed in white. I know I didn't understand much then, I still don't, but I cannot deny the spirit that touched my heart and testified that he was truly a prophet of God. that experience has been such an important one for me in building the foundation fo my testimony that the Lord leads his church by and through his prophets.
Ode to Tyler
I've seen this on some friends blog and thought it was cute, and since today was Tyler's birthday I thought I would express how grateful I am for him. There are so many things I love about Tyler, but I am just going to name my top five:
1) Faithful. Tyler has such a sincere desire to do good. He has a firm testimony of the gospel and is always trying to re-evealuate and improve and do better and be more faithful. I am always learning so much from him and my faith has grown as I learn from his example.
2) Incredible Father. Tyler is an AMAZING father. He is devoted to his family and loves to be with his childern and they love to be with him. It is so much fun to watch them play together. Syd, Layton,and Jack all light up when they see him.
3) Perfect Husband. Well Tyler really is just plain perfect anyway. Tyler is so good to me. He is always going out of his way to help me and show his love for me. He is constantly stepping in and doing things for me to make my life easier. Thank you so much Tyler!!! Not to mention I love to be with him. We have so much fun together, that is when we have a moment together- that's hard with 3 kids. I love his goofiness and love even more that he is willing to put up with me and my craziness.
4) Selfless. Tyler really does put himself last always. He is constantly going out of his way to help someone or letting someone else get ahead and thinking of others.
5)Humble. In fact Tyler is probably going to hate that I am writing this and posting it for all to read. Sorry hun!!

Doctor's Office Adventure
On Friday morning I took Layton and Jackson to Urgent Care becasue their doctor did not have any appointments available, which I really hate going to urgent care. I mean why to they really call it urgent, because you have to wait FOREVER to see the doc. They both had bad colds, Layton was complaining about his ears hurting and Jackson was wheezing.
While I was waiting for our turn Jackson and Layton were both crying and I was doing my best to try to comfort them when Layton started throwing up. I quickly put Jackson down and picked up Layton and ran to the bathrooms. I could hear Jack crying in the waiting room, but I had to help Layton clean up. We had to take off all his clothes and borrow an adult size hospital gown. Lucky for me a sweet lady took Jackson and held him for me as I tried to clean things up best I could. Then I saw Gayle Mortensen, a woman in my ward, she offered to stay and help me while her husband filled his prescription. What a blessing! She stayed with me through my whole visit,which was so nice since both boys cried through most of it. She even called to check up on us the next day. I am so grateful for good friends while we are away from family.

Mother May I
So today in Seminary we were studying the story of Hannah in Samuel versus Eli. Hannah desperately wanted to have a baby and promised the Lord that he would bless her with a child she would return him to the Lord. She lived to up to that promise. Eli didn't nessesarily teach his sons to sin, but in the scriptures is said that he honored his sons more than the Lord when his sons sinned, he told them what they did was wrong, but did not do anything more. It just got me thinking about how important it is to teach my children not only to not do wrong, but choose the right. And when they do make a wrong choice to help them to repent and do better. This was a good reminder to me, I know I have already made lots of mistakes thus far, hopefully I have learned from them and do better. It makes me appreciate the opportunity to study these stories that I am really not very familiar with. I'll have to remind myself of this when my alarm goes off in the morning.

Relaxing on Sunday
So today we attempted to go to church, but during Sacrament Meeting poor Layton just kept coughing,and poor Sydney had goop oosing out of her ear. I know it sounds gross but after she had her tubes fall out in her ears she has had this happen. I probably would have taken her into urgent care if we hadn't already done that before. So Tyler took all the kids home,and I stayed and enjoyed church. It was actually really
nice to get to listen to both sunday school and relief society. Then to top it off I came home to a wonderfully smelling dinner. Table all set ready to go. I know I have the most wonderful, fabulous,amazing husband in the whole world!!! After dinner Sydney and I played mom and kid, and tea party and barbie princess going to the ball.Poor Layton has been pooped all day, but so snugly. I love it! And Jack is his playful little self. So fun! it has just been a great day. Who would have thought when your kids are sick it could be so nice. I do hope they all get feeling better, but I still enjoyed them today.

2007 in a Nutshell
This past year has been eventful! First of all our third little bundle, joined us on March 26th. He came at quite a busy time. Tyler was studying for his last set of boards, and left for Oregon to take them when Jack was only 2 weeks. The next week Tyler and I drove out to Oklahoma, with our 3 week old, to look for a place to live. We had been researching the area for quite some time, and were looking at some of the places that looked good on the Internet, which we found in person to be quite disappointing. We only found 1 house the we liked, it needed a little TLC but was in our price range but was under contract. We left disappointed, but our realtor called us a few days later to let us know the sale fell through.
So we made an offer and after some negotiating our offer was accepted. Just a few weeks later our family traveled up to Oregon for Tyler's graduation from Optometry school. This I think was HUGE!! He worked so hard and I am so proud of him. Tyler was too modest and tried to tell me it would be too hard for me to try and sit through his graduation by myself with 3 kids. Which did have it's challenges but lucky for me I have great friends there with great in laws that helped me with the kids made it possible see him graduate!!
Just two short weeks after graduation Tyler had to go off to COT (comissioned officer training) for 5 weeks. I was lucky enough to be invited to live with my brother Josh and his wife Stacie and their two cute little girls. Might I add this was in their beautiful new home they had just moved into 3 weeks prior. I was very grareful and hope they didn't get too sick of me. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there and I appreciated the help I received from them and many other family members while Tyler was away. I don't how I could have done it without you all so thank you!!
Then in July we made our move to Oklahoma. I was not looking forward to this at all. But we have enjoyed our new home and have enjoyed doing some projects around the house which include, ripping out a wood deck/patio and replacing in by installing pavers to make a new patio, ripping down"really pretty" wall paper in a bathroom and bedroom and painting, and we just finished laying tile in our laundry room.
As for the kids Sydney goes to the Pre-K program at the elementary school, she is also involved in dance and gymnastics. She loves going to school and have enjoyed seeing Sydney grow in her confidence and independence and to meet new friends.
Layton is still all boy and enjoys playing anything that involves a ball,and also enjoys playing super hero spider man, or superman, and most recently plays "super dad".
Jack is our little wiggle worm,which started when he was born and hasn't stopped since. he started scooting around at 5 months and army crawling at 6 months and full blown crawling just shy of 8 months. holding still for him only happens when he is sleeping or eating, and sometimes not even then. He is so playful and fun, and love is play peek-a-boo and trying to keep up with Syd, and Layton.
