Our Projects!

We have been finally getting some projects done around the house. We really don't like the brick on our fireplace (or house for that matter), but did not want the painted brick look so we thought we would try and stain it to keep a natural look. We finished it on Friday night. It went better than I thought, and now I think we will do the rest of the house. Tyler is going to make a new mantle and crown molding for the fireplace which I think will complete the look.

Then on Saturday morning we started putting new siding on our house. We just got one area above the garage done, but we got it up and all painted. We are trying to just work on one section at a time and complete it before moving on to the next. It looks so much better. I like the fresh new look of it. The only thing we did not finish is the painting the trim, I haven't decided on a color yet. So we only have to use all our spare time for the rest of the summer and we'll have it done!!

Awesome! I never knew you could stain brick? Did you use the acid etching like what we did in the theater room? The difference is amazing, really.

New trim, that's always fun. Looks wonderful although it was probably a major pain to do it. Lucky, Tyler!

Oh, so inspiring... if I could only get my projects done fast enough. I started painting again last week. I might be finished before Christmas, but that's pushing it! lol

So excited for you guys!

I'm just bummed I didn't get to see it in person. Oh well, as least I still got to see the baptismal font before you rip it out!
