What I love about my little Valentines

I meant to post this on Valentines Day but I have not found the spare moment, so here I am late, speaking of late this has been the trend lately with my 3 kids. I hate being late!!
Sydney: She is such a good girl. She really wants to make good choices. She loves to be a helper and Layton has figured out(just this week) that if mom is busy he can ask Sydney to help him.Yeah!! I was changing Jackson and Layton wanted a drink, he asked me and I told him I would help him when I was done. He said "I'll ask Sydney." And Syndey loves to help,in fact more than Layton usually likes, but she is always willing to help and often I find here doing things to help without being asked. She is such a sweetheart. I love how much she loves here brothers and how good she is with them. They have a great example to follow.
Layton: He is our goof ball!!! Really he is so silly! I don't think a day goes by that he makes me laugh a few times. He is so playful and if he sees me do anything that looks like it could be a game he wants to "play". Such as loading the washing machine with only the white clothes. He loves to put clothes in the washer. (I hope this continues into his teenage years) He also loves to sing, he sings around the house usually scooby doo song, spider man song, or Charly song (I'm gettin' Nuttin for Christmas he learned form his uncle Charly). He is so much fun! I also love that Layton like to give me kisses. I love my little Layton kisses and hugs, and request them often!
Jackson: I can't believe my baby is turning one soon. It is always fun to see your baby grow and learn and never gets old. I love my little Jackson. One of his favortie things right now is peek-a-boo, which is sometimes useful when changing diapers, which by the way Jackson has been by far the worst at holding still for diaper changes and is usually screaming when we change him. He also like to crawl away after he has been cleaned and then look back at me as if to say, "just try and get me mom." This is when peek-a-boo comes in handy and I can entice him back if I put something over my head for him to come pull off. I love to hear Jackson laugh, nothing is more fun to hear than the laughter of a baby.
I of course love my Tyler too! But have embarrased him enough on my blog. However I do think he is amazing and I love him so much!
I am so grateful to have them. I just read on my sister blog about how grateful she is for here children. She had a long wait after her first and after a lot of effort and heartache, they were finally blessed with their new baby Presly. It was so sweet to hear her talk about all the precious moments in her new baby's life. It made me stop and think that I maybe take my little ones forgranted and that I need to take more time to appreciate the moments that are so precious in their lives. I am so grateful for them and love all my little ones so much.

Proud to be an American

On Monday we had an absolutely beautiful day it was 75 here, which I guess is out of the ordinary for February especially since it snowed on Tuesday. Funny eh! Anyway becuase it was so nice we went to the park on base with some other friends, after Sydney's school. For those of you who do not know (which would have included me 8 moths ago) at 5pm on base all the speaker around the base play "The Star Spangled Banner) and everyone is required to stop what they are doing and put your hand on your heart or if in uniform salute the flag. Even those who are driving in cars are required to pull over to the side. We have been on base when this has happened, but for some reason on Monday it really hit me. There were a ton of kids at the park running around soaking in the sun, but when the National Anthem began to play every child there stopped what they were doing and put their hand on their heart and looked up toward the flag. It was an amazing sight to see. I especially loved to see Sydney and Layton stop what they were doing and without prompting put their hands on their hearts and stood reverently for the anthem. It was such a wonderful feeling and I felt so grateful that my children were learning about patriotism at such an early age. I do think that we live in a wonderful and generous country. We give and sacrifice so much as a counrty to help those around us, and have so much opportunity and freedoms here.

Our Home

We've had a few people ask us to send pictures of our home so I posting them. It is definately not our dream home, but we are grateful to call it our own. Included in the picture is our backyard. Where we have a green belt with a basketball court (Tyler's didn't mind that) and the swings that the kids are on, there is also a nice wlaking path that travel through the subdivision which we have really enjoyed because here there are no sidewalks. Really not anywhere, weird huh!. I also included our "baptismal font" in our master bath. I thought I better hurry and get a picture, since we are in the process of demolishing it. I think all the rest are self explanitory.

President Hinckley

I am so grateful for the opportunity I has to be touched by our beloved prophet President Hinckley. My first memory of him was when I was 12 or 13. I attended the Bountiful temple dedication with my family. Although we were not in the same room as he during the dedication he walked tthrough the room where we were sitting right before it started. I remember so vividly the spirit that entered the room as he entered the room, all dressed in white. I know I didn't understand much then, I still don't, but I cannot deny the spirit that touched my heart and testified that he was truly a prophet of God. that experience has been such an important one for me in building the foundation fo my testimony that the Lord leads his church by and through his prophets.

Ode to Tyler

I've seen this on some friends blog and thought it was cute, and since today was Tyler's birthday I thought I would express how grateful I am for him. There are so many things I love about Tyler, but I am just going to name my top five:

1) Faithful. Tyler has such a sincere desire to do good. He has a firm testimony of the gospel and is always trying to re-evealuate and improve and do better and be more faithful. I am always learning so much from him and my faith has grown as I learn from his example.

2) Incredible Father. Tyler is an AMAZING father. He is devoted to his family and loves to be with his childern and they love to be with him. It is so much fun to watch them play together. Syd, Layton, and Jack all light up when they see him.

3) Perfect Husband. Well Tyler really is just plain perfect anyway. Tyler is so good to me. He is always going out of his way to help me and show his love for me. He is constantly stepping in and doing things for me to make my life easier. Thank you so much Tyler!!! Not to mention I love to be with him. We have so much fun together, that is when we have a moment together- that's hard with 3 kids. I love his goofiness and love even more that he is willing to put up with me and my craziness.

4) Selfless. Tyler really does put himself last always. He is constantly going out of his way to help someone or letting someone else get ahead and thinking of others.

5)Humble. In fact Tyler is probably going to hate that I am writing this and posting it for all to read. Sorry hun!!

Doctor's Office Adventure

On Friday morning I took Layton and Jackson to Urgent Care becasue their doctor did not have any appointments available, which I really hate going to urgent care. I mean why to they really call it urgent, because you have to wait FOREVER to see the doc. They both had bad colds, Layton was complaining about his ears hurting and Jackson was wheezing.
While I was waiting for our turn Jackson and Layton were both crying and I was doing my best to try to comfort them when Layton started throwing up. I quickly put Jackson down and picked up Layton and ran to the bathrooms. I could hear Jack crying in the waiting room, but I had to help Layton clean up. We had to take off all his clothes and borrow an adult size hospital gown. Lucky for me a sweet lady took Jackson and held him for me as I tried to clean things up best I could. Then I saw Gayle Mortensen, a woman in my ward, she offered to stay and help me while her husband filled his prescription. What a blessing! She stayed with me through my whole visit, which was so nice since both boys cried through most of it. She even called to check up on us the next day. I am so grateful for good friends while we are away from family.
